Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardennes’ characters truly come to life not through dialogue, but through action. The omnipresent camera persistently trails these restless protagonists, who are constantly grappling to find their sense of belonging. The key to unraveling a person's inner state lies in natural movement, expressive gesture, or even a simple ritual.
